New Project Funding for Vaughan-Woodbridge Seniors

Vaughan-Woodbridge, Ontario - Vaughan-Woodbridge seniors who are looking for the opportunity to benefit their community can now help reduce social isolation of their peers, raise awareness of elder abuse and take part in social activities. Seniors programs in Vaughan-Woodbridge will receive financial support to acquire, replace equipment, and conduct facility renovations to get their project off the ground, announced Francesco Sorbara Member of Parliament for Vaughan-Woodbridge on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development.

 Investing in Canada’s communities is not only about creating good jobs and encouraging clean economic growth. It is also about building stronger communities. Partnerships with local governments, institutions and organizations are vital to deliver change and improve the lives of seniors.

The government has allotted a lump sum of $166,439.00 for the following organizations; CariFestival Association and the Vaughan African Canadian Association for the "Lift Every Voice" - Seniors African Church Tour & Celebration Feast, CARP Vaughan Chapter 5 for From Seniors To Youth: Bridging Our Future, Famee Furlane for Building Our History Forward, Georgian Community Association in Canada for Seniors Volunteer To Engage The Community, Iglesia Hispana del Nazareno Woodbridge for Understanding Our Roots, the Royal Canadian Legion, Woodbridge Branch 414 for Legion Renovation and Rehabilitation, and the Woodbridge Macedonian Senior's Club for Macedonian Seniors Volunteering In The Community.
