July 28, 2017, Vaughan-Woodbridge - Francesco Sorbara, Member of Parliament for Vaughan-Woodbridge, made two infrastructure announcements today on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario. MP Sorbara announced that Chancellor Park playground will receive $181,500 in funding for improvements, Matthew Park will receive funding in the amount of $46,200 for improvements, which includes a shade structure, and Maxey Park will receive $72, 600 for a playground expansion. The Kortright Visitor Centre will also receive $200,000 of funding from the Canada 150 Infrastructure Program (150 CIP).
These projects are a part of over 350 Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) projects approved in southern Ontario under the program’s second intake. With the addition of $44.4 million in supplementary funding announced in Budget 2016, the total CIP 150 allocation for southern Ontario, being delivered by FedDev Ontario, is up to $88.8 million. Over 730 projects have been approved under both intakes.
These specific projects will allow residents of Vaughan-Woodbridge to enjoy upgraded community facilities such as parks, trails, cultural and community centres. They will also help to create a lasting legacy for all Canadians to enjoy for years to come.
